Wine trip to Swiss lands

Swiss wine presents a diversity that is unique in the world in such a small, steep, difficult territory,
but which contains exceptional terroirs. More than half of the Swiss vineyard is located between
Valais and the canton of Vaud.

Let’s explore five must-see areas,
their wines and their stories, as well as their ideas for activities and regional favorites. Departure
From Sion, head towards the Coast, passing through Chablais and Lavaux. Come on, let's go!

Domaine du Mont d’Or

Domaine du Mont d’Or

Mont d'Or is the oldest wine estate in Valais. It is also known for having introduced Sylvaner to Switzerland, renamed Johannisberg and becoming its preferred grape variety. The terraced vines, certified organic, are located south of the Montorge nature reserve, at the gates of Sion. Since the middle of the 19th century, the estate's wines have often been praised by critics!

Le Clos du Rocher

In 1584, an earthquake caused the mountain to collapse, and it tumbled down to Yvorne. At the foot of the immense amphitheater created by the landslide, the terroir would prove ideal for creating great wines. Clos du Rocher was born in the 19th century, when vines and well-ordered walls replaced the scrub and rocks.

La Cure d'Attalens

La Cure d'Attalens has a very long tradition of vine growing. Its eventful and rich history has been closely linked to that of Obrist for over a century, since it was the first renowned wine estate acquired by the Vevey house in 1896.
Corinne Buttet is a winegrower-tâcheronne, a term that dates back to the construction of Lavaux in the 12th century and which referred to people paid by the task for the maintenance of the vines. In 2019, she is the first woman to be crowned in the history of the Fête des Vignerons!
