Siccus, Johannisberg
White wine | Domaine du Mont d’Or, Valais AOC
Dry Johannis from Mont d’Or
The Mont d'Or estate was the first to import and then popularize Sylvaner, under the name Johannisberg, with great success. It has today become the first white specialty in Valais! If the sweet style is historically associated with the estate, the aptly named ''Siccus'' (dry) is a high-flying, tense wine, with a typical fine bitterness and surprising salinity.

Domaine du Mont d’Or
Mont d'Or is the oldest wine estate in Valais. He is also known for having introduced Sylvaner to Switzerland, renamed Johannisberg and becoming his favorite grape variety. The certified organic terraced vines are located south of the Montorge nature reserve, near Sion. Since the creation of the estate in the 19th century, its wines have regularly been praised by critics.
