A very fine and polished PL with blackcurrant, fresh-herb, terracotta and crunchy-seed character. Medium body, fine and focused tannins and a flavorful finish. Lots there in a classic way.

Fleshy and demonstrative, the 2023 Prieuré-Lichine offers up aromas of sweet berries, plums and smoke, framed by creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, with good depth and persistence, it's a strong effort that will offer a broad drinking window in a more modern style. William Kelley

64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Floral and fruity, the Prieuré-Lichine is an inviting wine. Hints of peony underline its freshness, while blackcurrant adds fruitiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, juicy and slender. It is underpinned by supple tannins that are still a little angular, but this will all be fine-tuned with age. 2026-2033

Beautiful dark colour. Intense nose of ripe, fine fruit. Delicate and supple on the palate, with a fine fatness. The wine evolves deliciously with a fine length and an evolution rarely seen since the 2005 vintage. A revival. Blend: 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13°. Yield: 43 hl/ha. Ageing: 35% in new barrels, 65% in single use barrels.
