64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Floral and fruity, the Prieuré-Lichine is an inviting wine. Hints of peony underline its freshness, while blackcurrant adds fruitiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, juicy and slender. It is underpinned by supple tannins that are still a little angular, but this will all be fine-tuned with age. 2026-2033

Yield: 43 hl/ha. Ageing: 35% in new barrels, 65% in single use barrels.

A beautiful purple red with almost black reflections.

Nose

This vintage offers a very delicate and inviting bouquet with its notes of blackberry, tea leaves and licorice.

Palate

This vintage offers good density on the palate, and is delicious and harmonious. An aesthetic wine, focused on freshness, finesse and charm.

Wine-growing terroir

The terroir of Château Prieuré-Lichine is essentially composed of gravel deposited by the river during glacial breakups. Runoff then cut these sedimentary soils into well-drained hillocks which, today, face the Gironde.

Winemaking

Vatting for 25 to 27 days in stainless steel and concrete vats, aging for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, 40% of which is new wood.

Château Prieuré-Lichine

Château Prieuré-Lichine was founded in the 12th century by the monks of Vertheuil Abbey. In 1951, the pope of wine, Alexis Lichine, acquired and cherished the estate until 2012, the year in which the Ballande group purchased the 78 ha property.
