Château Gruaud Larose 2023

Bordeaux Primeur | 2nd Cru Classé, Saint-Julien AC

Gruaud Larose has always sought to promote the place of man in the design of his wine. Both in action and in the link he establishes with his vineyard. The vine, the grapes are nothing without man, without the makers of the wines, from the most modest to the most powerful.

64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot Gruaud Larose reveals itself with subtlety. It even displays a form of discretion, but reveals everything in great detail. The spicy nuances and cedar notes are a measure of the terroir, the freshness and red berries a measure of the Cabernet Sauvignon, and the finesse an indicator of the precision and relevance of the winemakers. The winemakers have been able to rely on the meticulous work carried out in the vineyards. Fine and subtle, the Gruaud Larose has precious assets: its fine, powerful tannins give it power, while its acidity gives it freshness and salivation. A Gruaud Larose with a clear focus on finesse and detail, and that's what it's all about! The wine also has a fruity, persistent finish, thanks to the fine bitters that prolong the finish and enhance the aromas. Once again, the Gruaud Larose stands out for its ability to channel its power and focus its energy. It's a wine that benefits from the attention it receives and gains in precision year after year. It's the details that make the difference! 2029-2053

Château Gruaud Larose 2023 blossoms into a “lush and vibrant” French peony. Its icy powder-like texture is even more refreshing and juicy than some white wines, but before you have time to react, it gradually transforms into a thick layer of graphite powder that spreads like a carpet across your tongue. This natural transition from elegance to depth is ethereal and abundant as if a castle is slowly being lifted by peonies… After years of effort, the biodynamic philosophy has finally symbiosed with Château Gruaud Larose, and I look forward to its more beautiful chapters in the future.

Dark, intense and beautiful colour. Very aromatic, fruity and ripe nose. A hint of tar. Smooth in the mouth, very tasty in the middle, full-bodied, the wine caresses the palate with a lovely taste of red and black fruits. Long finish with fine tannins. Its low alcohol level is comparable to that of Lafite. Composition: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 2.5% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol content: 12°62 - pH: 3.8. 15.5% Pressed wine.
