The aromas in this young Margaux are so primary, reminding me of grape must fermenting in the vat, then turning to perfumes and flowers. Violets and roses. Full-bodied but it comes across as so agile and bright, with vivid acidity that makes the wine crunchy and linear. As Alexis, one of the owners of Margaux said, this really shows the DNA of the estate. Weightless. One of the wines of the vintage. 3.6 pH. Blend of 89% cabernet sauvignon, 5% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot.

89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot Margaux reveals itself with the subtlety and attention to detail for which it is renowned. It expresses great freshness, red berries, spices, black tea and a hint of blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine is serene, a little reserved from an aromatic point of view. The wine is dense and becomes more muscular as it ages. It owes its muscular character to the tannins, which are a little firm and, paradoxically, soft, but not at all hard and, above all, in phase with the tension provided by the acidity structure. This is clearly a wine of finesse, straightforward, while elegance will emerge with ageing. A subtle wine with a persistent, salivating finish. Very authentic, this is a Château Margaux ready to defy the decades! 2030-2065

I can hardly fathom how someone could craft a wine with 89% Cabernet Sauvignon so tenderly affectionate. Château Margaux 2023 is like countless skirt pleats carved onto white marble, embodying the epitome of minimalist white and ultimate beauty. Its aroma is reserved yet profound, with wafts of violet and sandalwood lending a touch of mystery, while the sweet blueberries and mulberries offer a sense of softness and warmth. Notably, Château Margaux 2023 possesses a “salty taste” not found in previous vintages, akin to fleur de sel sprinkled on a top-quality beef steak, elevating the entire palate.

Dark, violet and lively colour. The nose is very aromatic, fine, fruity, subtle and noble, with depth and a floral note of violets. The entry is extremely meticulous, delicate, subtle and airy in the middle, the wine becomes dense, juicy and fragrant, with a fine touch. It has a long finish with notes of black fruits. A great wine! Blend: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13°1 - pH: 3.6. Selection: 41% of the harvest.
