Château Poujeaux 2023
Bordeaux Primeur | Moulis en Médoc AC
Château Poujeaux produces generous wines, appreciated by both amateur consumers and the finest tasters. Thanks to the contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines from this terroir are both lively and structured, offering great aging potential, while Merlot gives them suppleness, roundness and fruitiness.

93 100James SucklingThe tight tannins and pretty fruit are very attractive now, with medium body and a juicy finish. I like it.

93 100Yves Beck55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. Poujeaux is less marked by his breeding than in the past. It reveals fruit and freshness through blackcurrant and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is linear and of medium density. At the same time, it has muscular tannins which provide vigor and potential, commonly with the acid structure. It is in the finish that the wine is most expressive, which bodes well; it is fresh, fruity and persistent. A promising wine! 2027-2043

92 100Alexandre MaAs for Château Poujeaux 2023, it presents a moist entry but conceals a strong backbone. In terms of the nose, it exhibits an ideal layering, particularly with the harmonious blend of licorice and pepper spices with soft berry fragrances. However, due to its moderate concentration, the tannins appear slightly abrupt, leading to a somewhat granular finish. nevertheless, based on my understanding of this wine, it is expected to become more rounded and delightful after aging for 5 years.

92 100Jean-Marc QuarinDark and purple color. Intense, pure nose, with ripe fruitiness. Fleshy wine through and through, with class in the touch which evolves juicy, dynamic and deep in persistence. Well-rounded tannicity. Very nice rendering considering the low level of alcohol. Blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 12.5° - pH: 3.8. Yield: 40 hl/ha.
A beautiful dark red.
Very aromatic, fruity and subtle, dominated by aromas of red berries coated with a hint of pepper.
Mellow attack, suave mid-palate, very fruity, tasty and long, with a present and well-coated tannicity.
Cold meats, game terrine, Périgord salad, stuffed turkey, roast veal in the oven, grilled meats, game birds, semi-soft cheeses.
Perched on a soil of thick and deep clay gravel, Château Poujeaux is made up of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest between Cabernet Franc for complexity and Petit Verdot for deliciousness and structure. .
