Château La Dominique 2023

This is linear and very fine-tannined with a crunchy undertone and a lovely medium to full body. Pretty, ripe fruit at the end, but always fresh. Racy and refined with structure.

A top winemaker can always unveil the potential of the terroir that are not inherently present. As seen with Château La Dominique 2023, it exhibited an unexpected concentration and managed to introduce a “saltiness” at the finish that is not typical of its terroir. The fragrance of violets and irises is light and pleasant, and swirling the glass releases enticing aromas of raspberries, strawberries, and red cherries. The wine’s body is as soft as freshly melted milky cheese, and in a fleeting moment, the palate is enveloped by the spicy and numbing textures of licorice, star anise, and Sichuan pepper. If a waltz were to play now, I would wish to dance until dawn.

The Dominique reveals inviting floral and fruity notes, with scents of peony and blackberry. Good density on the palate, where the wine combines freshness and precision. Its subtle power comes from the fine tannins that share the stage with the acidity that gives it its zest. A wine that I find to be perfect, linear and harmonious. A great success! 2028-2048

Dark purple colour. Intense, clean, fruity and smooth nose. On the palate, it has a lovely, meticulous entry, which develops deliciously in the middle, with a fine touch. The wine glides, caresses and finishes with normal length, without marking the tannins.
