90 100ParkerOffering up aromas of minty cassis, dark berries and pencil shavings, the 2023 Chasse-Spleen is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and youthfully structured, with good depth at the core and a penetrating finish. It's a strong effort. William Kelley

90 100Yves Beck57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. Chasse-Spleen covers almost 80 hectares of vines and produces around 350,000 bottles a year. The soil of the vineyard is composed of Garonne gravel and asteriated limestone. Vinification takes place in stainless steel and cement vats, followed by 12 to 16 months in barrels, 40% of which are new. Chasse-Spleen is fruity and fresh at the outset, with pleasant notes of red berries and chalky nuances. Rather slender, the wine gains a little width thanks to the compact tannins, while the acidity provides fruit and freshness on the finish. A wine of character that will gain body with age. 2028-2040.
Dense purple with purplish reflections.
Delicate and fruity bouquet, with aromas of blueberry and spices, followed by notes of black tea.
A medium-bodied wine, with fleshy, well-integrated tannins, delicious, of good density, with a tasty and pleasant finish.
To the south-east of the gravelly ridge of Grand Poujeaux, this terroir benefits from a remarkably drained subsoil and superb exposure to the warm rays of the summer sun. The soil is composed of 80% Garonne gravel and 20% limestone clay.
In thermoregulated stainless steel vats and epoxy-coated cement, maceration for approximately one month, aging for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels, 40% of which is new wood.
