Over 150 years of winemaking tradition

Cottinelli's story begins in Chur with Johann Baptista Cottinelli, an entrepreneur from Valtellina. Initially specialising in the trade of Italian products and wines, the company gradually developed its own wine production before becoming one of the most renowned producers in eastern Switzerland. Today, this long experience allows Cottinelli to combine tradition, expertise and modernity in each of its wines.

The great terroirs of Graubünden

Cottinelli's vineyards span approximately 22 hectares between the Bündner Herrschaft and the Chur Rhine Valley. This region, often nicknamed the "Swiss Burgundy," benefits from a particularly favorable climate thanks to the Foehn wind, generous sunshine, and limestone soils. These conditions allow the grapes to reach optimal ripeness and produce elegant, structured wines with remarkable freshness.

Pinot Noir at the Heart of Cottinelli's Identity

Among the many grape varieties cultivated by the winery, Pinot Noir holds a special place. A true emblem of Graubünden, it gives birth to wines renowned for their finesse, aromatic complexity, and aging potential. Alongside Pinot Noir, Cottinelli also champions varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling-Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, and the rare Completer, showcasing the full diversity of the Graubünden vineyard.
