Two friends, one idea

Anthony Aubert and Jean-Charles Mathieu met in high school. Years later, after studying business, they met again for a drink and discovered they shared a common vision.

They want to shake up the codes of a deeply traditional environment. Jean-Charles is convinced by Anthony's project, already active in the wine world. It's decided: they will make wine, but differently!

Breaking the codes

Breaking the codes

Launched in 2019, their Aubert & Mathieu wine trading project quickly became a success. The two partners, who have no family history in the industry, offer a relaxed and liberated vision of wine.

Their motto? "Shake the rules." Through this founding principle, they are also helping to change the image of merchant wines, moving them away from generic tastes and mass production for mass distribution.

Their approach is unconventional: they offer contemporary wine styles under disruptive labels. And this innovative tone, in both form and content, appeals to wine merchants, restaurateurs, and consumers.

Organic, local, modern

By 2025, the vast majority of Aubert & Mathieu's vintages will be certified organic. The company aims for carbon neutrality and favors local suppliers within a radius of less than 100 km.

The bottles are made from recycled, lightweight glass, while the caps, labels, and cartons are sustainable. Finally, the overcaps, made from materials that are difficult to recycle, have been eliminated.

Aubert & Mathieu is also B Corp certified, a global label awarded to companies that meet societal and environmental requirements, while being transparent and responsible in their practices.

A question of balance

A question of balance

Anthony Aubert and Jean-Charles Mathieu work in collaboration with several dozen producers from Languedoc-Roussillon, following precise specifications, in order to reflect a great diversity of terroirs.

Within this immense region and its plurality of climates and soils, the emphasis is placed on high-altitude vines, which allow the grapes to ripen more slowly, and to obtain balanced and fresh wines.

To preserve the crispness of the fruit, the harvest takes place early in the morning. Fermentation is natural, with as little handling, additives, and sulfur as possible, to allow each grape variety to express itself.
