The sun is coming out, and you don't have any ideas for a program for one of the upcoming weekends? Burgundy is waiting for you! Let yourself be guided, we offer you a 2 to 3 day immersion in Savigny-lès-Beaune, in the heart of the Côte-d'Or. A vineyard as legendary as it is picturesque, less than 3 hours from Switzerland.

On the way to the Côte d'Or

We're not going to hide it from you, the easiest way is to go there by car, particularly for reasons of flexibility on site. To reach the town of Savigny-lès-Beaune, allow 2h30 from Geneva, 2h45 from Lausanne or Basel, or 3 hours from Bern or Fribourg.

The train journey is possible, although it takes more than 5 to 6 hours. Depending on your departure city, you will need to make a change in Lyon or Dijon to then arrive in Beaune and organize a transfer with the team at Manoir de Villamont, where we offer you to reside.

Day 1: relaxation and visit to the Henri de Villamont estate

Take time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the mansion. You can, at your convenience, organize a guided tour of the wine estate.

The historic building of the estate building stands out from the traditional Burgundian architecture, mixing slate and brick. The vaulted cellars, where the wine storehouse and wine cellar are located, reach up to 6 meters in height and are among the largest in the region.

After visiting the premises, several tasting options will be offered to you. You can make an appointment in advance, or directly on site when you arrive.

You will learn more about the region's two flagship grape varieties, Pinot noir and Chardonnay , and will be able to taste the renowned vintages from the Henri de Villamont estate, such as Savigny-lès-Beaune “Le Village” or Savigny. -lès-Beaune 1st “Clos des Guettes” White .

As for gastronomy, the Manoir de Villamont team will be happy to advise you on the possible options in the surrounding area. Our recommendations:Le 428 in Savigny-lès-Beaune or La Ciboulette in Beaune.

Day 2: sporting and cultural outings

For nature enthusiasts, there is no shortage of options: flying over Burgundy in a hot air balloon, cycling and hiking from the manor, or even discovering the charming Burgundian villages.

The town of Beaune is 10 minutes from Savigny-lès-Beaune and is an essential stop during your stay! Stroll through its cobbled streets, stop in one of the many wine cellars, and take the time to visit the historic Hôtel-Dieu , a remarkable monument where you can learn more about the famous Hospices de Beaune .

Day 3: The Burgundy wine route

Are you planning to stay for a long weekend? The ideal is to go by car for the day on the Burgundy wine route, to immerse yourself in the wine world of the region.

From Savigny-lès-Beaune, we offer two itineraries. Note that the Henri de Villamont estate offers a selection of vintages from some of these prestigious villages. Links to these vintages can be found on the names of the corresponding villages.

Head north: Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits

If you have not yet had the opportunity, now is the time to discover the “le Village” and “Clos des Guettes” 1er cru plots from the Henri de Villamont estate in Savigny-lès-Beaune that you have already tasted.

Take the road heading north. Still in the Côte de Beaune, you can stop at the legendary wine-growing villages of Aloxe-Corton , Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny, which produce red wines, but also some of the most famous white wines in the world, including the Grands Crus Corton and Corton Charlemagne.

Continue on your way, and you have arrived in the Côte de Nuits, north of the Côte d'Or. The villages of Nuits-St-Georges , Vosne-Romanée, Flagey-Echezeaux , Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny , Morey-St-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin and Fixin are world-famous for their great red wines and deserve your time there. The return to Savigny-lès-Beaune will take you around 30 minutes by car.

Head south: Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise

After exploring the Savigny-lès-Beaune vineyard, head south to the Côte de Beaune, and wander the small roads of the iconic villages of Beaune , Pommard , Volnay , Meursault , Auxey-Duresses, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin or Chassagne-Montrachet again. The rows of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir will stretch as far as the eye can see, and you will probably come across the winegrowers responsible for some of the most renowned vintages in the world in the vineyards.

Continue south to arrive in the Côte Chalonnaise vineyards, and admire the landscapes around the villages of Rully, Mercurey , Givry and Montagny, before returning to your starting point in around 45 minutes by road.

Is it time to go home already? You will probably have to come back to fully enjoy the charms of the region.
