Henri de Villamont, Les Chatelots 1er Cru
Red wine | Chambolle-Musigny AC
In three words: a great wine!
Chambolle-Musigny is often presented as the most delicate appellation of the Côte de Nuits. This great red wine from Henri de Villamont, without contradicting this finesse, reveals itself to be very structured, with remarkable density. It benefited from an unusually long maturation, in order to make it supple… and it was successful! Its aromas of ripe red fruits are enhanced by a fleshy palate, supported by silky tannins. Stunning !

Between 250 and 300 m above sea level, the hillside is close to the bedrock with thin soil. Numerous cracks in the hard limestone allow the roots to seek happiness deep down.
A vine in Cordon pruning which allows control of vigor. Very long aging in barrels (15-16 months) because it is a very structured wine.
