Vieux Cachet, Cornalin

Red wine | Domaine du Mont d’Or, Valais AOC

A fine example of Valais wine!
This Cornalin – or Rouge du Pays, a grape variety typical of Valais – is one of the jewels in the crown of the Domaine du Mont d’Or. It offers aromas of pepper and morello cherry, and a deliciously indulgent palate, with flavours of wild berries, lovely freshness, firm tannins, and a fine finish enhanced by a hint of tobacco. A red wine that is both mountainous and sun-kissed, with a distinct character! Perfect with a generous portion of dried meat, beef or game!

Les vendanges au Domaine du Mont d'Or

Domaine du Mont d’Or

Mont d'Or is the oldest wine estate in Valais. He is also known for having introduced Sylvaner to Switzerland, renamed Johannisberg and becoming his favorite grape variety. The certified organic terraced vines are located south of the Montorge nature reserve, near Sion. Since the creation of the estate in the 19th century, its wines have regularly been praised by critics.
