The Pledge Our Lekker Pinotage
Red wine | Coastal Region
South Africa's emblematic grape variety!
Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, and is profoundly South African. This grape variety with a strong personality bears no resemblance to its parents, and offers an original profile that awaits discovery! Here, it offers a red wine with hints of plum and blackberry, perfumed by a year's ageing in French oak. Velvety and supple on the palate, it's a delight - 'lekker' in Afrikaans!

Only the best Pinotage fruit is selected from the Bush vineyards in Paarl. The 10-year-old bush vines are planted on shale soils which add perfume notes to the wine.
After harvesting by hand, 10% of the juice is taken at the time of crushing to intensify the structure of the wine. It is then vinified for 12 months in French oak barrels.

The Pledge
