Maurice Gay 1883, Diolinoir
Red wine | Valais AOC
Another Swiss creation!
Created in Switzerland in 1970, Diolinoir is the result of a cross between the obscure Rouge de Diolly (real name Robin Noir, not much better known!) and Pinot Noir. Often used in blends, it is found here in all its purity. It offers a nose with aromas of wild strawberry, blackcurrant and blackberry, rose and violet with notes of oriental spices. On the palate this red wine is fine, crunchy, with supple tannins. It seems that he is doing very well on his own!
