Massetino 2020
Red wine | Toscana IGT
The “Massetino” already presents itself with a very confident character, as it shares the same pedigree as the “Masseto”. Just like its big brother, it combines power and opulence with discretion and classicism.

A beautiful opaque and shiny dark garnet red, with purplish reflections.
With aromas of blackberries, blackcurrant, violet and minerals of such magnitude and persistence that this vintage remains immediately anchored in the memory.
Rich, soft and dense entry in the mouth, with lots of fullness. With a grandiose and youthful structure, endowed with a very fine woodiness, completely linear, powerful and long-lasting. Powerful tannins on the finish, slightly rough due to its youth.
The Masseto vineyard includes a number of plots which have not yet developed enough character to be included in the eponymous wine, but which show enough potential and personality to be considered in the making of a second wine: “Massetino”.
Manual harvest, destemming, light pressing, transfer to concrete vats by gravity, plot vinification, spontaneous fermentation, with native yeasts, with two or three pumping overs per day and removal as needed. Vatting for 21 to 25 days. Malolactic fermentation in barrels (50% new oak). Blended after 12 months of aging, reintroduction into barrels for 3 months before bottling.
