A unique vineyard in the heart of Bolgheri

Masseto's identity is rooted in an exceptional plot of land on a hill overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. This terroir is distinguished by the rare presence of blue marine clays, which impart the wine's structure, depth, and complexity. The combination of these unique soils, Bolgheri's temperate climate, and the proximity of the sea creates ideal conditions for cultivating Merlot and contributes to the incomparable personality of each vintage.

Merlot elevated to its highest level

Masseto is made almost exclusively from Merlot, a grape variety that finds remarkable expression here. The grapes are harvested by hand and then meticulously selected to preserve only the best lots. This attention to detail at every stage of production allows for the creation of a wine that is at once powerful, refined, and aromatically precise. Notes of black fruit, spice, cocoa, and flowers evolve over time into exceptional complexity.

Integrated into the hillside from which it originates, this modern structure allows each plot to be worked separately and the evolution of the different batches to be precisely monitored.
