92 100Jean-Marc QuarinDark, intense and beautiful color. Fruity, fresh and subtle nose. Oily palate from the attack, aromatic, melting, powerful and very fruity, evolving into a good body, towards a tannic but noble and fragrant finish. It's very good and a superb success for this second wine. Unique blend of 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot.

91 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateTasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Le Petit Cheval has a low-key nose that might be lost in the crowd of its more ostentatious peers, but it is well-defined with beautifully integrated oak, briary and graphite aromas developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a keen line of acidity and an almost Left Bank finish that deserves a round of applause. Under blind conditions, I was not the only one to give this one of my most positive comments against the "big boys." Not to be underestimated. Tasted January 2016. - Neal Martin.

91 100Wine SpectatorRipe and fleshy, but restrained and stylish, with layers of warm raspberry coulis, blackberry preserves and plum sauce melting beautifully with the smoldering tobacco, anise and loam details. The loam edge keeps the elements grounded through the finish. -James Molesworth.

90 100James SucklingA refined and firm red with dried cherries, spices and coffee beans. Full to medium body, fine tannins and a delicious finish. Better after 2017.
A beautiful garnet red with purple reflections.
Aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant and black cherry) coated with the freshness of mint and licorice.
Frank entry on the palate, well-balanced acidity, dense mid-palate, developing a deliciousness built on a creamy, smooth texture which perfectly envelops the tannins which are nevertheless dense and powerful, beautiful and long finish with freshness.
Périgord salad, porcini cassoulet, duck with orange, Châteaubriand, Wellington fillet, fresh cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
