Château de Chardonne has entered the restricted circle of Vaudois Premiers Grands Crus since the 2011 vintage. This white wine expresses scents of acacia flowers and hawthorn, spicy notes of tonka bean and pepper, fruity accents of pear, with a hint of flint. A complexity worthy of its rank, underlined on the palate by a remarkable balance, in a slender, fine, very long style. Delicious young, its evolution will amaze you over decades!

Colour

Deep yellow with gray reflections.

Nose

Intense and floral with scents of acacia flower and hawthorn deploying spicy notes of tonka bean and pepper.

Palate

Fresh and slender with a fruity mouth and a finish of great persistence.

Wine-growing region

This 1.7 ha vineyard is one of the jewels of the Obrist estates. The vines, on steep hillsides facing Lake Geneva, have a soil composed of brown earth, limestone and moraine. They are subject to regular controls by the Confrérie des Vignerons de Vevey.

Winemaking

This Premier Grand Cru is produced in the traditional way and aged on its lees in wooden vases.

Le Château de Chardonne comprend 1,7 ha de vignes, acquises par Emile Obrist en 1933. Ce vignoble en terrasses est idéalement situé face au Léman. Il est uniquement planté de Chasselas et sa qualité reconnue l’a élevé au rang de Premier Grand Cru dès le millésime 2011. Il est entouré des soins attentionnés d’émérites vignerons-tâcherons, couronnés lors de plusieurs Fêtes des Vignerons successives.
