Château de Chardonne has entered the restricted circle of Vaudois Premiers Grands Crus since the 2011 vintage. This white wine expresses scents of acacia flowers and hawthorn, spicy notes of tonka bean and pepper, fruity accents of pear, with a hint of flint. A complexity worthy of its rank, underlined on the palate by a remarkable balance, in a slender, fine, very long style. Delicious young, its evolution will amaze you over decades!

Intense and floral with scents of acacia flower and hawthorn deploying spicy notes of tonka bean and pepper.

Fresh and slender with a fruity mouth and a finish of great persistence.

Wine-growing terroir

This 1.7 ha vineyard is one of the jewels of the Obrist estates. The vines, on steep hillsides facing Lake Geneva, have a soil composed of brown earth, limestone and moraine. They are subject to regular controls by the Confrérie des Vignerons de Vevey.

Winemaking

This Premier Grand Cru is produced in the traditional way and aged on its lees in wooden vases.

Château de Chardonne comprises 1.7 ha of vines, acquired by Emile Obrist in 1933. This terraced vineyard is ideally located facing Lake Geneva. It is planted exclusively with Chasselas and its recognized quality has elevated it to the rank of Premier Grand Cru since the 2011 vintage. It is surrounded by the attentive care of distinguished winegrowers-laborers, crowned during several successive Winegrowers' Festivals.
