Winery Jeff Konsbrück

Coming from a farming background, though not specializing in winemaking, Jeff Konsbrück decided to produce his own wine in 2012. With a Master's degree in oenology, a brand-new cellar, expanded estate, and organic certification, Jeff has made a name for himself in the beautiful Luxembourg Moselle region in just a few years. While he specializes in Crémant, he happily experiments with all sorts of styles.

A wine-growing turning point

A wine-growing turning point

Jeff Konsbrück comes from a farming family with diversified activities. He trained as a machinist, but when his father retired and his brother didn't want the vineyards on the estate, he decided to strike out on his own.
Selling all the grapes, like his father did, was out of the question. He was not yet 25 when he founded the Jeff Konsbrück Winery in 2013 and discovered a passion for working in the vineyard, and even more so in the cellar.
His first vintage was vinified at a friend's house while he finished his winery. The modern building was completed in 2014. With its wooden cladding, it blends into the landscape, in harmony with the surrounding nature.

Luxembourg's Moselle

Luxembourg's Moselle

The Jeff Konsbrück Winery is located in Ahn, along the Donverbach stream, which flows into the Moselle River. On the other bank lies Germany, where, after many bends covered in vineyards, the river finally joins the Rhine.
The family already owned vineyards in renowned terroirs, and Jeff added new plots to the estate, which now covers 13 hectares, stretching from Machtum to Wolmerdange, via Ahn and Niederdonven.
The small village of Ahn is dominated by picture-postcard hillsides, particularly on Palmberg Hill, whose steep limestone cliffs retain heat throughout the night. An ideal location for vineyards!
A popular hiking trail offers stunning views of the Palmberg nature reserve. The path also passes by Jeff's winery, providing a refreshing break upon arrival, either in the glass-enclosed tasting room or on the panoramic terrace.

Natural harmony

Natural harmony

When he took over the family vineyards, Jeff Konsbrück's goal was to produce sustainably. While he has always worked with this in mind, he recently embarked on organic certification.
He began the official process during the disastrous 2021 vintage, which was particularly rainy. Despite the intense pressure from fungal diseases that followed, he persevered. And his vines are now certified.

In the cellar, Jeff, who holds a Master's degree in oenology, produces modern, vibrant, and balanced wines. He experiments with different types of barrels, explores spontaneous fermentations, rosé, and orange wines.
Crémant accounts for two-thirds of the estate's production. Jeff's flagship sparkling wine, Kinnekskummer, is made with the same grape varieties as in Champagne, plus a drop of Riesling, inseparable from the Moselle region.
