Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz
Red wine | South Australia
St Henri is a traditional and unique expression of Shiraz, in contrast to Grange. Unlike the majority of high quality Australian reds, it is not made from new oak. Introduced in the 1950s by Penfolds, the wine gained recognition in the 1990s for its distinctive style. St Henri is rich and generous when young, developing earthy and mocha characters over time. It is aged in large old vats, minimising the influence of oak. Shiraz remains the central element.
