Deep dark cherry.
Aromas of coffee and nutty praline, accompanied by notes of violet and spearmint.
The palate is impeccably balanced. We first recognize the red fruits with cranberry and wild raspberry which intermingle with the cherry liqueur.
The blackberry, both leaf and berry, is very present.
Pastry notes are reminiscent of a baked blackberry tart with chocolate ganache, topped with a maraschino cherry.
The sweet notes are balanced by intriguing flavors of oregano and thyme, as well as an impression of iron and ironstone that is undoubtedly linked to the terroir.
The tannins are very fine, like cocoa powder. A wonderful Bin 169 that promises to keep its promises for many decades... if you can be disciplined enough to wait that long.

The Coonawarra region is famous for its exceptional soil, terra rossa, a mineral-rich reddish clay soil, which sits on a limestone layer.
