Paniza Garnacha from Slate
Red wine | Cariñena DOP
Paniza offers us here a complex and elegant pure Grenache, in a concentrated, silky style, with a beautiful mineral dimension, coated with notes of strawberry and chocolate. This red wine comes from slate soils very poor in organic elements, also shallow, at altitude. The vines suffer, and produce concentrated, high quality grapes. The ideal companion for all meat dishes… on slate for example!

The vineyards, located in the south of the mountains of northeastern Spain, are cultivated at around 850 m above sea level. In the lower areas, the vines are planted on limestone, sandstone and clay soils. In the higher plots, we find older vines, which grow on slaty soils.
After being crushed and destemmed, the grapes ferment in stainless steel vats. After settling and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 8 months in lightly toasted French oak barrels. Then, the bottled wine is refined in the cellar.
