A beautiful dense dark red with almost black reflections.
Aromas of black and red berries and cloves, coated with scents of fresh leather and tobacco, followed by a touch of kitchen herbs, white pepper and mint.
With a delicate attack, with a lot of power, juicy, without heaviness, with great harmony. Elegant tannins, fine-grained and of high quality, well-integrated woodiness giving the wine an additional dimension. Long and refreshing finish, with noble fruitiness, delicately spicy. Power and finesse of total perfection!
Beef tartare, deer carpaccio, Café de Paris entrecôte, grilled meats, leg of lamb, deer saddle, dark chocolate desserts. Also an excellent meditation wine.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
Grapes from two family vineyards: on the one hand from the "Nicasia" plot (Malbec, Cabernet Franc) which is based on shallow, sandy clay soil dotted with gravel, on the other hand from the "Adrianna" vineyard (Cabernet Sauvignon , Malbec) where the vines are planted on limestone, heavily gravelly soils.
Manual harvest, plot fermentation in barrels, concrete and stainless steel vats at controlled temperature (26 to 28° C) for 10 to 15 days. Vatting for 5 to 10 days. Malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barrels for 18 months. Before bottling, Nicolás Catena Zapata himself supervises the final blend.

Bodega Catena Zapata
Great wines have their origin in the vineyard. The bodega's vision is to produce rich and unforgettable wines, true to the particular place from which they come. The history of Catena runs parallel to the history of Argentine wine.
Founded in 1902, the Catena Zapata bodega is known for its pioneering role in the resurrection of Malbec and the discovery of very high altitude terroirs in the foothills of the Andes, in the Mendoza region.
