Nicolás Catena Zapata

Red wine | Mendoza, Argentina

Since its creation in 1997, "Nicolás Catena Zapata" has become the first luxury vintage from Argentina to be exported throughout the world. This great wine recreates the original Bordeaux blend of the 18th and 19th centuries, at a time when Malbec dominated Merlot and was on par with Cabernet Sauvignon in the Médoc. Mass selections of ungrafted pre-phylloxeric Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines give rise to this nectar that opens a window to the past from the vineyards of the highlands of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes.

Bodega Catena Zapata

Bodega Catena Zapata

Great wines have their origin in the vineyard. The bodega's vision is to produce rich and unforgettable wines, true to the particular place from which they come. The history of Catena runs parallel to the history of Argentine wine.

Founded in 1902, the Catena Zapata bodega is known for its pioneering role in the resurrection of Malbec and the discovery of very high altitude terroirs in the foothills of the Andes, in the Mendoza region.
