Lunadoro "Quercione" Riserva
Red wine | Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG
First of all, we must clarify this name of Montepulciano, which defines two very different things: a red grape variety from Abruzzo, on the Adriatic Sea, and a town in Tuscany, where red wine is made, like here, with the great Tuscan grape variety: Sangiovese. This Lunadoro reserve offers aromas of blueberry, cherry and undergrowth. Both deep and refined, it is a great Sangiovese, with an intense and persistent finish.

The Montepulciano terroir offers exceptional diversity, with light soils at lower altitudes and steep soils at higher altitudes. The Mediterranean climate, combined with continental influences, favors the growth of the vine. The Lunadoro vineyards benefit from clay soils and the proximity of Lakes Chiusi and Trasimeno. Exposure to the wind promotes optimal ripening of the grapes.
Vinification at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats, followed by aging in French oak barrels (20 and 30 hl) for at least 24 months. Then, the wine is aged in bottle for 12 months.
