Lunadoro "Prugnanello"
Red wine | Rosso di Montepulciano DOC
In Montepulciano, the red Sangiovese grape variety takes the local name of Prugnolo Gentile, affectionately called Prugnanello. A red wine which offers scents of cherry, also violet, with touches of citrus and clove. Slightly tannic, it has a fresh and pleasant finish. Lunadoro recommends drinking it with... wild boar papardelle, but Sunday evening pizza will be perfect too!

The Montepulciano terroir offers exceptional diversity, with light soils at lower altitudes and steep soils at higher altitudes. The Mediterranean climate, combined with continental influences, favors the growth of the vine. The Lunadoro vineyards benefit from clay soils and the proximity of Lakes Chiusi and Trasimeno. Exposure to the wind promotes optimal ripening of the grapes.
Vinification at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats, followed by aging in barrels and French tonneaux (30 hl/20hl) for a minimum of 12 months.
