Wine-growing terroir

Lavaux is a favorite wine-growing region. A large part of the vines are cultivated on terraces facing the lake. The sun's rays on the lake and its reflection on the stones provide ideal conditions for growing vines. The soils are gravelly and slightly limestone and the bedrock is mineral.
