Domaine de La Doges
White wine | Vevey Grand Cru, Lavaux AOC
Worthy of being served at the Doge's Palace!
This Chasselas from Domaine de la Doges is pleasant and subtle, with notes of citrus and flowers, supported by accents of caramelized nuts. The originality of this white wine lies in its great freshness (no malolactic fermentation, for the geeks!) and its aging on the lees in a new wooden barrel, which gives it that little toasted side, which goes perfectly with its fresh style. A great idea!

A magnificent sparkling pale yellow.
With fresh and subtle aromas of citrus and flowers.
With a powerful and racy body, elegant, well balanced, with a sublime and long finish.
By will, the Swiss Ambassador André Coigny de Palézieux bequeathed the Domaine de la Doges in 1997 to the Public Art Society (Heimatschutz) so that it remains a witness to bourgeois housing from the 18th and 19th centuries, while that he bequeathed the vineyard to the Confrérie des Vignerons de Vevey in memory of his wife Odette and some of his ancestors, abbots-presidents of the Confrérie. The vineyard (1.87 ha) of Domaine de La Doges, owned by the Confrérie des Vignerons de Vevey, has been operated for almost 50 years by J. & P. Testuz.
In 2019, the year of the Winegrowers' Festival, it was decided to age the estate's white wine on lees in the barrel specially made for the occasion. Aging on the lees lasted 6 months in the 2,000 liter cask, made as the emblem of the Fête des Vignerons 2019. The lees are regularly resuspended (gentle stirring of the wine every 3-4 weeks).

The terraced vineyards of Lavaux have an architecture worthy of a cathedral. A colossal work shaped by the hand of man, this haven of beauty has dimensions that evokes a response that is almost spiritual.
