The summer of 2018, right up until the harvest, was memorable for its record-breaking heat. Whilst this weather produced ripe, and at times heady, Chasselas wines, many examples prove to be harmonious and delicious! This is certainly true of Autecour’s Premier Grand Cru. Its aromas of ripe lemon, spiced pear and peach, along with its smooth, supple palate, reflect the character of the vintage. Such is the magic of Chasselas: a mineral edge and moderate alcohol content ensure the balance of this great white wine, which is only just beginning its evolution!

Wine-growing terroir

Located in the heart of the hillside vineyard, Domaine de Autecour overlooks Mont-sur-Rolle over 13 hectares and flourishes along the banks of Lake Geneva. The vines are cultivated according to the rules of integrated production, respectful of the environment. The high planting density forces the roots to dig deep into the terroir (moraine and eroded molasses), which gives the wine its remarkable complexity and typicity.

Located in the heart of the wine-growing village of Mont-sur-Rolle, Domaine de Autecour, which celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2013, covers 6 hectares of vineyards planted with Chasselas, Plant Robert, Merlot, Galotta, and Gamay grapes. The building, classified as a historic monument, bears witness to the rich history of the region. The vines, which benefit from an exceptional terroir, produce elegant wines aged in oak barrels and casks in the estate's cellars.
