Cheval des Andes, an Argentinian grand cru, results from the fusion of two traditions: the vision and know-how of the legendary Château Cheval Blanc with the altitude viticulture of the Mendoza region. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, grown in a demanding climate at the foot of the Cordillera, combine to create this exceptional wine.

Colour

Intense, deep and brilliant red.

Nose

Generous and expressive. Aromas of ripe red fruits supported by notes of spices, black pepper and violet.

Palate

Rich and full-bodied. The powerful and refined tannins contribute to the structure of this wine. Fruity and spicy finish.

Wine-growing terroir

Cheval des Andes, the result of two cultures, French and Argentinian, arises from two distinct vineyards. The 46 hectares of unique land, Las Compuertas and Altamira, contribute to the complexity and uniqueness of this wine. Las Compuertas, located at 1070 m above sea level, is home to century-old Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, benefiting from precise irrigation. Altamira, further south, at an altitude of 1150 m, offers Malbecs from 1945 in alluvial soils. The accentuated thermal variations provide quality tannins. The two complementary terroirs give Cheval des Andes its richness and uniqueness.

Winemaking

The aging was carried out 40% in 225 liter barrels, 40% in 400 liter barrels and 20% in 2500 barrels.
