The depth and intensity is really out of this world. The richness is there, but it's all in balance and has an almost weightless feel to it. It's medium- to full-bodied with purity and definition, and the magic of limestone soils keeps the pH low, giving energy, bright acidity and verve. Terrific young red. 51% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 17% cabernet sauvignon.

To everyone’s surprise, the typically fiery Château Pavie has embraced humility and restraint in its 2023 vintage. The toasted notes from the oak barrels are much gentler in this vintage, and the usually robust tannins are now finely detailed. The rich aromas of concentrated pomegranate and blueberry juice radiate an endless warmth, while the limestone’s texture steadfastly asserts the terroir’s strength. With an alcohol level of 14.25%, the lowest in recent years, the 2023 vintage acts like a terroir’s mirror in front of Château Pavie, reflecting all its characteristics with complete fidelity.

51% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon The Pavie 2023 unfolds with exceptional relevance, smooth, on a path that becomes a boulevard along the palate. The wine is rather slender at the outset and gains in density and energy as it progresses. The diversity and subtlety of the bouquet underline the attention to detail that has gone into Pavia 2023. There is no excess, neither in the maturity of the fruity notes nor in the ageing. On the contrary, the terroir prevails in the bouquet. This is a very clear wine, impressive for its finesse and its ability to take on a sharper, more subtle profile. The symbiosis between the powerful, supple and incisive is perfect. A great wine! 2030-2050

Intense bouquet with chalky notes, followed by scents of red berries and menthol notes coated with a light woody touch.

The attack is delicious and slightly juicy. This vintage has body and fleshy, creamy tannins in phase with the acidity. This is a Pavie whose elegance is emerging!
