97 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateDeep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Pape Clement comes barreling out of the glass with bold notes of cassis, plum preserves and licorice, giving way to scents of cedar chest, crushed rocks, charcoal and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly coiled with beautiful tension and a firm, finely grained texture locking in the layers of black fruits and minerals, finishing with great length and energy. The blend this year is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, aging mainly in French oak barrels, 66% new, with about 10% aging in large oak barrels. The wine will spend approximately 18 months in barrels. Drinking window: 2028 – 2060. Lisa Perrotti-Brown

96 100Markus Del MonegoDark purple color with violet hue and black core. Expressive nose with aroma reminiscent of blackcurrants and blackberries, hints of graphite and pencil shavings, discreet toasting in the background. On the palate juicy and well structured with ripe and juicy fruit, balanced tannins and elegant acidity, freshness in the aftertaste, a wine with excellent length.
Intense and deep purple, with purplish reflections.
Intense and complex bouquet, notes of black cherries, blackberries and redcurrants.
It presents itself with body, a little fat and tannins which slowly reveal themselves on the finish. It evolves, showing a beautiful fruity and woody note, and reveals itself to be more and more noble.
Caramelized poultry, beef with morels, truffled chicken, venison saddle, camembert.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
