This shows attractive aromas and flavors of chocolate, walnuts, wet earth, mushrooms and berries with full-body, round and refined tannins and a subtle, focused finish. Excellent length, in a sophisticated way. Chewy at the end.

Purplish purple. The bouquet of Pape Clément is marked by fruity notes and by its aging, to a nevertheless balanced extent. On the palate the wine knows how to combine charm and freshness. It has grainy tannins and a lively structure that supports the aromatics. The whole must still gain harmony but the prospects are promising. 2024-2039.

Continuing the strong performance of Pape Clement over recent vintages. Violet edging around the glass, and a supple tannic hold that both constricts and expands the fruit through the palate, giving a sense of momentum. There is a firm tannic grip, given drama by notes of black pepper and bitter chocolate, and a slate textured finish to slow things down and hold the flavor. Malolactic fermentation in barrels (60%) new, and aging in both barrels (90%) and larger oak casks. Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are planted in the vineyard, but not yet in the 1st wine. Certified bee-friendly. Tasted twice, two weeks apart, excellent both times. Drinking Window 2027 - 2040

Dark and intense color. Very aromatic and complex nose, with ripe fruitiness. Soft on the attack, juicy in the mid-palate and above all extremely fragrant, the wine evolves savorily, on a rather tender whole, towards a good length without angle.

Château Pape Clément

Château Pape Clément

The story begins in 1305 when Bertrand de Got, known as Pope Clement V, became the owner of Château Pape Clément, located in Pessac on the outskirts of Bordeaux. The 63 ha vineyard extends over a mixture of gravelly-sandy soils, clay-limestone soils and limestone subsoil rich in iron.
