98 100Jean-Marc QuarinDark, intense and black color. Intense, fine, subtle, complex and noble nose. Shades of ink, black fruits. Creamy touch reminiscent of Pomerol. When stirred, it changes again and even brings to mind Syrah. Crystalline at the start of the palate, extremely aromatic in the middle, fatty, ample, melting and quite overwhelming, the wine gains energy before finishing long, complex and very tasty. Wow! Blend: 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Yield: 31 hl/ha. Production: 55% of the harvest. Best drunk between 2028 and 2060

97 100Yves BeckWhat a burst of fruit in Palmer's bouquet! It is distinguished by nuances of morello cherries, currants and spices. As with Alter Ego, I also find nuances of red berries which highlight the freshness of the bouquet. Finally, nuances of iris and black pepper complete the olfactory complexity. On the palate the attack is marked by freshness then the burst of fruit already noted on the nose. The wine has density, energy and a beautiful aromatic persistence. The finish must still gain in definition and finesse but it must be said that the power present requires quite a few conditions. We will have to give time to this Palmer who is endowed with exceptional power. 2027-2050 96-98/100.

97 100DecanterVivid colors, and the aromatics grab hold straight away. This is intense and concentrated, elegant, balanced and classical, all about the texture which is velvety and seductive with softly-grained tannins. Moves oh so slowly through the palate with dozens of layers to get hold of. The overall feel is precise, slow and seductive, with appellation and estate signature at every turn. Sappy, hawthorn freshness, rosemary, redcurrant, tobacco, cigar Wooden box and dark chocolate shavings on the finish. 3.77pH, 78IPT, 55% of overall production, with 13% press wine. The Château Palmer vineyard covers 55 hectares spread over the sheep hills of the commune of Cantenac. Most of the plots are concentrated on a plateau of lean gravel from the Güntz era, located at the top of the ridges of the Margaux appellation.
Aging for 20 months in oak barrels, 50 to 60% of which is new wood. This aging in barrels aims to make the wine mature while allowing its style to express itself.
