The Château Lagrange vineyard covers 118 hectares in a single block, planted on two gravelly hilltops facing north-south. The soils are siliceous gravel over a clay-limestone subsoil. The vines benefit from a temperate, oceanic climate.
Selective harvesting, separate vinification by grape variety, vine age, terroir and grape ripeness in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 26-28°C for 18 to 25 days, daily pumping over, racking or punching down, malolactic fermentation. Blending of grape varieties in January, ageing for 21 months in oak barrels (50% new wood). Final blending before bottling.
