90 100DecanterSucculent, mouthwatering, direct and linear with a sappy quality to the blackcurrant and black cherry fruit. Grippy liquorice and spice-edged tannins are doing the talking at the moment. I like the terroir markers, the slate and graphite giving the minerality and I love the pulse of energy that drives the wine, with signature Médoc firmness on the finish. Well integrated with a classicism to it and hits of sweet strawberry and sour raspberry elements that give joy as you taste. Lovely. Oenoconseil consultants. Tasted twice. Drinking window: 2024 - 2033. Georgina Hindle. April 2022.

87 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateThe 2021 La Tour de By offers up aromas of minty berries, cherries and white pepper, followed by a medium-bodied, soft palate with a slightly metallic finish. This hasn't quite fulfilled the potential it showed en primeur. Drinking window: 2024 - 2034. William Kelley. February 2024.

Château la Tour de By
Vines have been cultivated here for several centuries. Acquired in 1965, by Mr. Pagès and two of his partners, they joined forces with Professor Emile Peynaud, the Château's first consulting oenologist. Since 2005, Frédéric le Clerc, grandson of Mr. Pagès, and his cousin Benjamin Richer de Forges have strived to perpetuate the tradition of quality and typicity of Nord-Médoc wines.
