Wine-growing terroir

Planted on one of the most perfect gravelly ridges in the region, the La Lagune vineyard extends over 80 hectares, where Caroline Frey has worked for many years to establish environmentally friendly viticulture, based based on practices from organic and biodynamic farming, certified organic from the 2016 harvest.

Winemaking

Alcoholic fermentation for around two weeks, then malolactic fermentation in vats. Maturation in oak barrels.

Yves Beck Beaucoup de finesse et de fraîcheur dans le bouquet de La Lagune. Agréables notes de griottes, de framboises et de menthe. En bouche le vin confirme la finesse et la subtilité du bouquet. Il affiche de nombreuses facettes grâce à sa finesse mais également à sa profondeur et à l’ampleur des tannins. Ces derniers gèrent bien leur puissance et assurent parfaitement les arrières en compagnie de la structure acide. Très belle réussite. 2027-2050 93-95/100

Moelleux en entrée de bouche, juteux au milieu, riche en saveurs, le vin évolue velouté sur une trame tannique serrée et élégante. Il redouble d’arômes en finale, avec des nuances de fruits noirs. Decanter This comes in strong with both grip and attitude. Some austerity that shows through in the abundant tannic frame, but there is a juiciness that runs through the palate, a sense that it is light on its feet. Liquorice, black chocolate and a spiced tomato leaf adds layers, but things close down on the finish. This is certified organic and in biodynamic conversion. A yield of 30hl/ha. Drinking Window 2028 - 2040.

Markus Del Monego Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Very elegant nose with finesse and freshness, fresh blackcurrants, ripe black cherries and hints of mallow blossoms in the background. Mild spices and discreet toasting aroma, subtle oak. On the palate well-structured and balanced with freshness, ripe tannins, intense fruit and discreet minerality. A wine with an excellent length.

Château La Lagune

Established in Ludon around 1587, on the Garonne alluvial terrace overlooking the Palu, La Lagune reached the rank of Grand Cru in 1855. Since 2000, the Frey family has owned the Château La Lagune estate, which was certified organic in 2016.
