Château Gazin 2020
Red wine | Pomerol AC
Another great year for Château Gazin with a first wine that is ripe, balanced, and full of finesse! This is the first time that Château Gazin has included so much Cabernet Sauvignon in its blend, which gives good structure and reinforces the complexity of the wine. A vintage that will also seduce you with its excellent value for money!

97 100Yves BeckSo much depth and complexity in this bouquet! It shines with its freshness and fruity intensity. On the palate the wine is compact, creamy and very elegant. Its tannins are powerful and serene in the way they reveal themselves. The aromatic expression is dazzling and marks the entire palate, right through to the finish. A wine of rare precision and great finesse. I think he will mark the history of Gazin and that we will talk about him in a few more decades. 2025-2055 97-99/100

96 100James SucklingThis is really fantastic with so much intensity and focus. Firm, linear tannins frame the wine beautifully. Polished and fine. It's full-bodied, yet tight and posed. Complex flavors of blackberry, black olive, mushroom and bark. Persistent finish. Best of the trilogy?

96 100Markus Del MonegoDark purple color with violet hue and black core. Rich nose with distinct fruit, ripe blackberries, blackcurrant jam, sweet elderberries, wild strawberries, mocha and dark chocolate, hints of vanilla and mild spices in the background. With some oxygen a discreet touch of violets appears in the background. On the palate rich with freshness and great elegance, the aroma of the nose is repeated on the palate. Very elegant, persistent and charming with great depth and length.

94 100DecanterI love this, extremely classic Gazin, which has depth and pep, and a jaunty feel to the black fruits. The freshness keeps the core of this wine firm from beginning to end, as do the chewy tannins. This is not an exuberant vintage but at this particular estate it suits the personality because it is always fairly old school and classic. For the first time no Cabernet Franc in the blend, just Cabernet Sauvignon. A yield of 35hl/ha. No added sulfur during fermentation. Tasted twice, there are plenty of tannins here but it is highly successful.
Dark red, with purple reflections.
Magnificent palette of aromas of morello cherries, blackcurrants and blueberries, enveloped in smoky and undergrowth notes.
Beautiful robust structure, elegant tannins, slight touch of acidity present, beautiful long and balanced finish.
Red meats in sauce, baked goose foie gras, woodcock with porcini mushrooms, pan-fried lamb with rosemary, confit lamb.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
