91 100DecanterFirm, rich and bright, this is an enjoyable wine with clear St-Julien character. The tannins creep up on you, suggesting that this wine will age well. Although subtle, it's also hugely promising with slate, charcoal and menthol notes joined by finely-placed and precise tannins. The vineyards were unaffected by frost, with a yield of 50hl/ha. Christophe Ollivier is consultant here, making the Meffre stable one of the rare St-Juliens to stray from the Boissenot embrace. Drinking window: 2025 - 2038. Jane Anson. April 2018.

Avril 2018.

91 100VinousThe 2017 du Glana has a well defined and focused bouquet with blackberry, cedar and light tobacco aromas. There is elegance and refinement here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity with a pinch of black pepper towards the finish. Whilst not the most high profile Saint-Julien property, this du Glana is impressive and might represent the "insiders' choice". Neal Martin. January 2020.

91 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateDeep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 du Glana offers up warm cassis, blackberry pie and blueberry compote with touches of violets and black pepper. Medium-bodied, firm and lively in the mouth, it has a good concentration of fruit and a perfumed finish. Lisa Perrotti-Brown. April 2018.
