Maintenant – 2046.

96 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateSomewhat reminiscent of their brilliant 1998, the 2011 Château Cheval Blanc has turned out to be a top-notch success. Its deep garnet/plum/purple color is followed by hints of blueberry confiture intermixed with raspberries, mocha, damp forest and a hint of mint. Exhibiting a velvety, opulent texture along with considerable class and flesh as well as sweet tannin, this flavorful, forward 2011 should drink beautifully for two decades or more. The harvest at this estate lasted from September 6 through October 1 (for the Cabernet Franc). 2012 - 2032. 94-96/100. Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Assemblage 52% cabernet franc, 48% merlot.

95 100DecanterStill very youthful a decade on, with fresh notes of raspberry rising above the black fruit core. Nuances of cedar and a touch of violet are beginning to emerge, and despite the drier vintage there’s great freshness to the finish in this otherwise opulent and silky wine. A great potential for cellaring. 2022 - 2040. Amanda Barnes.

95 100The Wine EnthusiastThis is an opulent, dense wine, very perfumed while also structured. It is complex, full of rich fruit that pours through the wood and dark tannin. It just hints at a more exuberant future, flavored with the ripest fruits while still keeping freshness. Drink from 2020. Roger Voss.

94 100James SucklingA really beautiful wine with super silky tannins with chocolate, spice, berries and spices. Full body, with super polished tannins and a long, long finish. The first wine from the new winery of Cheval. Very precise. Very polished. Cabernet Franc give the quality. 93-94/100

Deep purple red.
Complex, with floral notes of violets and peonies evolving into red fruit, raspberry and black cherry.
Full-bodied on the palate, rich, voluminous and voluptuous mid-palate, with a never ending finish.
The Château Cheval Blanc estate has been established on the grounds of Saint-Émilion since two centuries. It covers 39.5 ha, divided into 55 plots, each unique in terms of age, size, soil composition and grape varieties. In 2011, 36.1 ha (47 plots) of the estate's 39.5 ha were in production.
Ripening of the grapes at fresh temperatures, pure plot vinification, gentle extraction, long maceration, manual pumping over with a single racking during the four weeks of vatting. Malolactic fermentation in vats. Aged for 14 months in new oak barrels.
