Beautiful pale yellow color.

Nose

Very flattering first nose, on Sauvignon blanc with an aromatic palette expressing notes of exotic fruits (passion fruit, pineapple), on the other hand we find aromas reminiscent of orange zest and peach.

Palate

Rich, with roundness, present acidity. The finish is saline as is often found in Carbonnieux. Breeding is discreet.

Wine-growing terroir

The Carbonnieux vineyard has been established since the 13th century on a beautiful ridge of gravel, clay-limestone and naturally drained. Within the Pessac-Léognan appellation, this prestigious terroir is remarkable for its morphology and the diversity of its soils.

Winemaking

Manual harvest, slow pressing, fermentation in barrels, aging for 10 months in oak barrels including 25% new wood.

Yves Beck Le blanc de Carbonnieux se distingue par sa complexité et son intensité. Ainsi, il révèle d’invitantes nuances de pêches et d’ananas suivies de parfums de fleurs de tilleul. Doté d’une rafraîchissante tension en bouche, le palais assume parfaitement les promesses du bouquet. Il est salin, salivant et désaltérant. Belle persistance aromatique de la finale. Un Carbonnieux bien inspiré de la pluralité de son terroir (argilo-calcaire et graves garonnaises) et qui reste très fidèle à lui-même. Bravo ! 67% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Sémillon. 2023-2038.

Alexandre Ma The clear structure, fresh acidity and round body together create a textbook standard dry white of Pessac-Léognan. On the palate, it presents the freshness and sweetness like sugary pineapples. Flowing through your tongue, it presents some gentle mineral notes, with fresh fragrances of grapefruit and sophora flower going along. All these raise my expectation for its future.

Château Carbonnieux

Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest and largest properties in the Bordeaux vineyards. Carbonnieux has belonged to the Perrin family for three generations. In 1956, Marc Perrin acquired and restored the castle. Today it is his grandchildren, Eric, Christine and Philibert, and great-grandchildren who manage the family property of nearly 95 hectares of vines, half planted with white grape varieties and half with red grape varieties.
