94 100DecanterTiny yield (10 hl/ha). Cabernet notes and freshness. Maintains its elegance but with a lighter frame and depth. Pure and long. Harmonious. 2018-2028. 17/20 (= 94/100).

93 100The Wine EnthusiastThis is a warm, rich wine with spicy black-fruit flavors. Touches of coffee have come through with the wood aging. Bright acidity gives a touch of freshness to the firm tannins at the end. Drink this generous, while still serious wine from 2020. Roger Voss.

92 100James SucklingA soft and silky Canon la Gaffeliere with chocolate, berry, and light mineral undertones. Medium body, juicy finish. Drink or hold.

Assemblage 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc, 5% cabernet sauvignon.

89 100Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Canon la Gaffelière has a pretty nose in the context of the vintage: no under-ripeness here and nicely defined with scents of black cherries, iodine, violet and cedar. The palate is soft and supple on the entry with light tannin, a touch of mocha tinging the red and black fruit, leading to a structured finish that is simple but lingers in satisfying fashion. This easy-going Saint Emilion should provide a decade's worth of pleasure. 2016-2028. Neal Martin.

Dark purple red.
Aromas of raspberry, blackberry, kirsch, dried herbs and toast.
Beautiful, dense structure, a juicy, elegant wine with silky tannins and an attractive balance with a fine touch of acidity. Remarkable length and very harmonious finish.
Château Canon La Gaffelière is located near the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, near the reverside. Over an area of 19.5 ha, the clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils constitute a complex and nevertheless exceptional terroir.
Manual harvest, vatting for 30 days in temperature-controlled wooden vats, aging for 15 months on fine lees in oak barrels, 55% of which are new.
