Château Branaire-Ducru 2022
Red wine | 4th Cru Classé, Saint-Julien AC
Branaire-Ducru's style is first and foremost a signature. Fruit, freshness and elegance, 3 key components which form the hard core, the guiding framework imprinted in the Château's wines. Upon purchasing the property, Patrick Maroteaux expressed the wish to produce wines representative of the Saint-Julien appellation with a unique imprint, the kind that allows great wines to be identified.

Lovely dark purple red.
Very expressive, complex, rich in ripe black fruit aromas, without any heaviness. The ageing gives it delicate, refined spicy hints.
Generous, subtle and fleshy on the palate, held together by balanced acidity. The wine develops complexity and depth. The lingering finish is highly aromatic.
Cold meat, game terrine, couscous royal, red meat in sauce or roasted in the oven, grilled poultry, game, semi-soft cheese.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
The Branaire-Ducru vineyard is made up of 15 micro-terroirs which extend over 60 ha to the south of the appellation. The vines, aged 35 years on average, are planted on Quaternary gravel-siliceous alluvium soils. The Merlot flourishes on clay soils.
Manual harvest, sorting of the grapes as soon as they arrive at the cellar, vinification separated by plot and grape variety in temperature-regulated stainless steel vats, slow maceration for 21 days. Aging for 18 months in oak barrels (60% new barrels).
