Château Beauregard 2021

Very impressive purity of fruit with blackberry, black-olive, and earth character. Some black truffle, too. It's full-bodied and very compact with firm, racy tannins. Goes on for a very long time. Could be better than the super 2016. From organically grown grapes. 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc.

Dark purple color with violet hue and black core. Very elegant nose with fragrant fruit, blackberries, elderberries, mulberries and ripe plums. Elegant spiciness and hints of violets in the background. Vanilla and balmy spices as well as hints of dark chocolate. On the palate well structured with freshness and elegance, very persistent taste with ripe fruits and balmy spices excellent depth and length.

Elegant, fine bouquet, revealing its aging with delicacy through nuances of Mocha. Hints of licorice. On the palate the wine is juicy and delicious. Inviting, almost charming attack. The tannins are tight, precise and well integrated. Pleasant and lively freshness which gives temperament to the whole wine. Beauregard has character, righteousness. It can certainly be enjoyed in its youth, but it has the potential to last for a few decades. Beauregard has lost none of its charm, on the other hand it has gained in dimension and temperament. 2026-2045 93-95/100

A wine that improved notably over the three weeks I spent in Bordeaux, the 2021 Beauregard offers up aromas of cherries, sweet berries, pipe tobacco, loamy soil and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, it's generous and textural, with a layered core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, penetrating finish. William Kelley (Note 91-93)

Couleur sombre et intense. Nez fruité, pur et riche en fruits frais. Bouche tout en délicatesse tactile, avec de l'éclat dans la saveur, de la nuance et une jolie finale fraîche et mûre en même temps. Corps fondant. Ensemble délicieux. Assemblage : 70 % merlot, 30 % cabernet franc. A noter que ce pourcentage va aller en s'accroissant dans les millésimes suivants.
