Often described as "modern Sauternes", Château Bastor-Lamontagne favors fruit and freshness. This wine expresses itself on ripe citrus fruits, with touches of candied orange and dried apricot. It is a sweet white wine for collection, long-keeping like all Sauternes, but also a modern wine, for consumption, even for thirst, in the most positive sense of the word!

Delicate golden yellow.

Nose

Very expressive of citrus (grapefruit, lime).

Palate

Beautiful fullness with aromas of candied orange and dried apricot. Long and delicate finish with tangy notes of citron. Beautiful general balance for this wine which is both lively and delicate.

Wine-growing terroir

On one of the terraces of the Garonne, 40 km south of Bordeaux, Château Bastor-Lamontagne extends its 56 hectares of vines on a magnificent silico-gravel terroir, entirely devoted to the production of sweet wine.

Winemaking

After a light settling, the musts are separated, some in vats, the other in barrels. Aging for 16 months in stave oak barrels, 20% of which is new wood.

Yves Beck Lots of freshness and minerality in this bouquet. It reveals fruity nuances with citrus and mirabelle plums. On the palate the wine is slightly creamy, lively and fresh. The sweetness is in no way overpowering and is in tune with the acidic structure. A pleasant, balanced wine, which can already be appreciated in its youth. 2023-2034 90-92/100

Château Bastor-Lamontagne

Château Bastor-Lamontagne, located on a terrace of the Garonne, in Preignac, occupies 56 hectares of vines, is entirely dedicated to the production of sweet wines. Belonging to the King of France until 1711, it experienced its real wine boom in the 19th century. Today the Castle belongs to the Helfrich family.
