Bedoba Orange
White wine | Kakheti, Georgia
At the cradle of world wine
This blend of local Rkatsiteli and Kisi grape varieties opens with captivating aromas of dried apricots, honey, orange peel and aromatic herbs. Traditional winemaking in Qvevri amphorae, listed by UNESCO in 2013 and practiced for at least 8,000 years, produces a result of captivating complexity here. This so-called 'orange' wine is very eye-catching – literally – with its light tannins. An experience, and a beautiful vintage of gastronomy!

Bedoba Orange consists of the typical Georgian grape varieties Rkatsiteli and Kisi, known for their unique characteristics. Rkatsiteli comes from 25-year-old vines, grown on an 8-metre-deep blue slate subsoil, which produces grapes with character and great concentration. Kisi comes from younger vineyards, planted on hillsides on limestone soils and benefiting from a cooler microclimate.
In the cellar, the Rkatsiteli arrives directly in the Qvevri amphorae. After fermentation with natural yeasts, the punching down of the wrapper begins. Once fermentation is complete, the amphorae are closed until March. During this period malolactic fermentation takes place. Then the new wine is pressed and transferred to new Qvevri for aging. Around 10% of the wine is transferred to new 225 l barrels.
The Kisi is destemmed and fermented at 16°C in steel vats. The wine is filtered after alcoholic fermentation and does not undergo malolactic fermentation.

Kakheti Winery
“Bedoba” was born from the praise of an inclusive and eclectic culture at the European junction between east, west, north and south. Several cultures from Europe, Persia, Arabia, Anatolia and the Far East have influenced Georgia's own identity, giving rise to one of the most hospitable countries in the world.
To honor this, “Bedoba” wine was created in cooperation between winemaker Nugzar Ksovreli and Kakheti Winery. The origins of this winery date back to 1533, when the winemaker of the Kakhetian king Teimuraz II, Kakhaber Konchoshvili, created a winery to produce and sell wines from the region.
