The Château Palmer wines: based on the same philosophy, so many expressions of a terroir. Over time, these homages to the surrounding nature and the heritage of Château Palmer resonate. Not forcefully; but all in finesse, in elegance.

94 100Jean Marc QuarinBlack color. Intense, ripe, fresh and subtle nose. Nuances of blackberry jelly and blackcurrant. Crazy entry in the mouth! The wine sparkles on the palate, ultra satiny, with incredible charm. It's no longer wine, but another drink. Great fresh length, despite the flavor of very ripe fruit. Lots of nobility in the grain. Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13°7 – pH: 3.74 – IPT: 72 which is a lot.

93 100Yves BeckLots of freshness in the bouquet of Alter Ego which reveals nuances of morello cherries, raspberries and licorice sticks. On the palate the wine confirms the freshness of the nose. It is juicy, dense and has tight, powerful and fine tannins. From the attack, the fruity intensity marks the wine; it is ideally supported by a lively acidic structure. The tannins appear late on the finish. Fruity and persistent finish. 2024-2035 93-94/100

93 100DecanterChocolate shavings and smoked coffee bean on the nose, it's a vintage where you can't get away from the tannins, but here they have sinew and juice, like the best translation of the tannins in the year. This has real purity of fruit (very low SO2 addition at Palmer), together with the gourmet touch that you want in Alter Ego. 45% of overall production. 3.73pH. Survived mildew better than in 2018 because of experience in dealing with the conditions. August 15 to 29 for the harvest. A yield of 31hl/ha. Drinking Window 2024 - 2038
Purple red with purplish reflections.
Silky but intense aromas of ripe black fruits.
Soft and velvety entry in the mouth, medium structure with well-integrated tannins, well balanced, long and aromatic finish.
Game terrine, duck foie gras, red meats, vegetable gratin, soft cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
The Château Palmer vineyard covers 55 hectares spread over the sheep hills of the commune of Cantenac. Most of the plots are concentrated on a plateau of lean gravel from the Güntz era, located at the top of the ridges of the Margaux appellation.
The grapes having arrived at the cellar at temperatures a little higher than normal, it was necessary to cool the harvest. These efforts were rewarded since the tastings revealed batches of very high quality distinguished by their freshness, density and finesse.
