Crémeux en attaque, le vin s’illustre par son caractère linéaire et précis. Il dispose de tannins puissants et d’une acidité structurante et offrira déjà du plaisir dans sa jeunesse, mais il est évidemment dessiné pour la garde, également ! 2030-2060. 95-97/100. Avril 2026.

Bright and harmonious, the 2025 Talbot wafts from the glass with aromas of mulberries, violet, cassis, dark cherries and spice, framed by well-integrated oak. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s concentrated and dense, built around a massive core of fruit framed by structured, youthful tannins and concludes with a somewhat firm, gently bitter finish. It's a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot. 91-93/100. Yohan Castaing. April 2026.

A beautiful dark purple red.

Nose

Aromatic and fragrant as ever, with nuances of blackcurrant, coated with a beautiful minerality.

Palate

Soft on the palate, with a beautiful structure for this vintage, with a beautiful, dense fruitiness, with fine and well-integrated tannins, a nice length finish.

Wine-growing terroir

The Saint-Julien appellation is located in the heart of the Médoc vineyard. The 900 hectares of vines form a rectangle along the Gironde estuary, on one of the most homogeneous terroirs of all the Médoc appellations. The soils are composed of ridges of Garonne gravel which become siliceous further to the west and which allows natural drainage which is perfectly suited to growing the vines.

Winemaking

Manual harvest, aging for 15 months in oak barrels, 60% of which is new wood.

Château Talbot

Planted on gravelly ridges, the Talbot vineyard with an area of 105 ha owes its name to an English warrior, governor of Guyenne and defeated in 1453 during the Battle of Castillon. Since 1918, the Cordier family has perpetuated the production of excellent quality wines.
