    Decanter
Aromas of tobacco leaf, blueberry, and oak–derived spice, presage a rather structured wine with tannins reinforced by the lively acidity of the vintage: a firm, slightly angular profile at this stage, where the fruit feels somewhat restrained. Paradoxically, this same framework brings freshness that reveals palate depth. The finish carries a mineral, gently saline edge, suggesting versatility at the table. While it may currently lack enough expressive fruit, the balance of structure and freshness points to a wine that could integrate nicely with barrel ageing (20% new oak). Drinking window: 2029 - 2039. Panos Kakaviatos. April 2026.

Château Carbonnieux

Château Carbonnieux

Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest and largest properties in the Bordeaux vineyards. Carbonnieux has belonged to the Perrin family for four generations. In 1956, Marc Perrin acquired and restored the castle. Today it is his grandchildren, Eric, Christine and Philibert, and great-grandchildren who manage the family property of 100 ha of vines, half planted with white grape varieties and half with red grape varieties.
