Le bouquet du 2011 se distingue par sa complexité et son aptitude à créer l’harmonie entre des nuances épicées et fruitées. Invitantes notes de bois de réglisse, de griottes et de mûres complétées par des notes de poivre et de garrigues. Agréable tension en bouche, plussoyée par des tannins certes fermes mais amples et en phase avec le tempérament de la structure acide. Un vin précis, linéaire et persistant. Somewhat reminiscent of their brilliant 1998, the 2011 Château Cheval Blanc has turned out to be a top-notch success. Its deep garnet/plum/purple color is followed by hints of blueberry confiture intermixed with raspberries, mocha, damp forest and a hint of mint. Exhibiting a velvety, opulent texture along with considerable class and flesh as well as sweet tannin, this flavorful, forward 2011 should drink beautifully for two decades or more. Voici le premier millésime du nouveau chai avec les 44 cuves qui le composent. C'est la première fois que l'équipe de Cheval Blanc a découvert le goût de ces 44 parcelles non assemblées. Ce nouvel outil permet de faire 74% de grand vin tant les résultats sont optimaux. Couleur intense, nez intense lui aussi, fin, très fruité, et très pur. Ample dès l'entrée en bouche, très pur de goût, puissant, riche, ce vin dense et profond, un brin austère emplit la bouche et évolue long avec du goût et une superbe enveloppe tanique. La finale révèle un merveilleux grain de tanins doublé d'une présence aromatique remarquable. Du grand vin fin qui pourrait voir sa note monter pendant l'élevage. Assemblage 52% cabernet franc, 48% merlot.

Still very youthful a decade on, with fresh notes of raspberry rising above the black fruit core. Nuances of cedar and a touch of violet are beginning to emerge, and despite the drier vintage there’s great freshness to the finish in this otherwise opulent and silky wine. This is an opulent, dense wine, very perfumed while also structured. It is complex, full of rich fruit that pours through the wood and dark tannin. It just hints at a more exuberant future, flavored with the ripest fruits while still keeping freshness. Drink from 2020. Roger Voss.

A really beautiful wine with super silky tannins with chocolate, spice, berries and spices. Full body, with super polished tannins and a long, long finish. The first wine from the new winery of Cheval. Very precise. Very polished. Cabernet Franc give the quality. 93-94/100
